Dave Smith Instruments today introduced Tempest, a new analog drum machine, at the 2011 NAMM Show. Tempest is a collaboration between Smith and longtime friend and fellow instrument designer Roger Linn. Though they've consulted with each other on past projects, Tempest marks the first time a product will carry both the Dave Smith Instruments and Roger Linn Design logos. "If you're going to make a drum machine, who better to have in your corner than Roger Linn?" said Smith, referring to Linn's legacy as inventor of the digital drum machine.

Voice structure:
* 2 Analog oscillators and 2 Digital oscillators
* Digital sources have samples and waveforms (Prophet VS waves and others)
* Digital oscillator pre/post filter control
* Samples donated by FXPansion and Goldbaby
* Each voice has a Curtis lowpass filter and a discrete 2 pole highpass filter
* 8 Modulation paths

Skoda sicer, da ne bo možno menjati semplov (razen morda v verziji 2.0). Glede na izkušnje z ostalimi DSI produkti in demo tudi predvidevam, da ne bo zmogel hudega analognega kicka. Pa tudi najbolj poceni ne bo (okoli 2000 $ v ameriki)..

zdaj ko se je tale tempest pojavil, bom pocakal se malo s kupovino ritem masine. predvsem me koncna cena zanima, koncept je naceloma zelo dober, plus tempest je ubistvu groovebox in synth hkrati, 6 fucking stereo outputov

Zihr se da kako dobro ceno dobit

hehe ixi car, sam vseeno je cena vec kot je bila za pričakovat. za da denar si omislmi machinedrum SPS-1 in se kaksen groovebox (ali dva) zraven. recimo jomox, korg, vermona. MD + xbase 888 ali jazbase03 pa se ostane sodlov za druge prckarije
